Quite disappointed with this hotel for the price. The room was really nice, the reception staff were great. However, I have never seen a more un-inviting swimming pool. When we arrived there were no sunbeds, despite the hotel photos advertising fake grass and sunbed areas. It was actually just a concrete area, which again was un-inviting. We thought we would probably be able to request them, but the swimming pool was full of leaves on arrival. It’s cleaned every morning but that’s not enough when it’s surrounded by trees. The staircase into the pool is wooden and probably an accident waiting to happen. The hotel has a rooftop pool which saved the experience for me, because I wasn’t to checkout as soon as I saw the main pools false advertising. The rooftop pool was much more cleaner and acted like private pool. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again because there are areas which seem like the hotel isn’t interested. If I wasn’t on a non-refundable rate, I would have asked to checkout early

A well-located, beautiful, independently-owned hotel to stay when visiting Chieng Mai. Staff were polite, the food was great, the location is a quick walk to the old town and by the river. Just the right size. However keep a few issues in mind: 1. The water temperature can fluctuate in the middle of a shower if someone else flushes or uses the sink. The plumbing seems a bit outdated. 2. The bath is at the entrance of the room. And there is no divider between the bedroom and bathroom. So if you are not careful, you risk a wet floor at the entrance/closet area. Also like any other hotel in Thailand, the ability of the staff to speak English varies dramatically. So pls be polite and patient at all times.

deluxe suite room type at first floor gave me peace and privacy. the breakfast was great. the cocktail was superb. the spa needed more choices of oil/mask. the garden needed a bit of renovation.

Fantastic sunset rooftop bar in Chiang Mai. Worth to visit even you’re not staying in the hotel.

Its a perfect location on the river. A 4 star hotel but with some 5 stars qualities. The room is a good size, and you can even get netflix in your room. The balcony is perfect with two rocking chairs. The breakfast is a la carte. The laundry was quite expensive. The pool bar on the roof is perfect for relaxing.

This is my second stay~ The last time was four years ago. The hotel is well maintained overall, without feeling old. It's hard to believe that this is a ten-year old hotel~ I will come back to stay again when I go to Chiang Mai again~

We had a wonderful stay during Yee Peng. While the hotel was quite busy for the festival, the staff were absolutely wonderful and so helpful during our stay. They were so friendly and very accomodating. The property is really beautiful, with spacious rooms which are well maintained. We particularly loved the garden area which offers many seating areas and overlooks the river. The ‘living room’ space was the perfect, comfortable location for getting a few hours work done and the restaurant offered friendly staff and delicious meals. The made to order breakfast was delicious and filling, and was convenient to order ahead and have ready when we were. We loved the location as well, having previously stayed in the historic centre, we felt this location was so much nicer and had easier access to the less touristy side of Chiang Mai. I highly recommend Sala Lanna and send a big thank you to the team who made our stay so wonderful - and for the beautiful krathong they gave us!

I enjoyed my stay at Sala Lanna. The property could do with a bit of TLC & some attention to details, however, the place is cosy & with the view to the river delivers a good feeling of space & being in nature. The staff were friendly & helpful & I would repeat my decision to stay here, although, not sure if the price point is adequate for the overall experience.
